[News] “Big Bang is working hard to bring a different level of performance to audiences" Yang Hyun Suk on Big Bang's Concert Preparations.
YG Entertainment’s president, Yang Hyun Suk, shared his confidence and excitement over Big Bang’s fast approaching comeback.
Big Bang is scheduled to begin their promotions in early March. The group is to hold concerts on March 2 through 4 at Korea’s largest indoor venue, the Seoul Olympic Park Gymnastics Stadium.
Big Bang’s highly-anticipated comeback to the music scene will be nothing short of big. There are plans set for the group to perform in 20 cities around the world. I'm singing my blues: Analysing TOP's hair colour and how to achieve it
TOP's new electrifying blue hair has been a hot topic not just amongst VIPs but also with netizens and news portals praising the bold move.
many VIPs have been pondering as to what hair dyes were used to create such a vivid look? I decided to create this article and tutorial because I've seen a number of VIPs stating that the dye that the stylists used on Tabi was most probably La Riche Directions in Turquoise
I dyed my hair turquoise about a month ago and I used Directions in Turquoise straight onto platinum silver hair, this is the colour:

as you can see it's a lot darker than his and more blue than the bluey green that his seems to be:
and yes, bright coloured hair will always fade when you wash it unless you use some of the dye at the conditioning stage but I've noticed that without using any dye and only using normal shampoo and conditioner my hair hasn't faded as much as what I thought it would whereas with TOP it's noticeable, he went from this:

I also I think that it's important to note that he probably has had it dyed a darker colour from when the teaser pictures were taken to when they arrived in New York.
Now this is only an assumption but I believe to get the original colour seen in the promos they bleached his hair to blonde then used a silver toner and then applied Directions in Lagoon Blue MIXED with silver toner in a 1:2 ratio, it looks like it was only left on for a short period of time like 15 minutes. The blue seen in the teaser images is more vivid, they most definitely used Photoshop to enhance the colour but if you were going after that shade then I would suggest using the Lagoon Blue along with silver toner in a 3:1 ratio
I think that they used Manic Panic's Atomic Turquoise on his hair in the time between the promo images and New York, looking through pictures of people who have used the dye it looks exactly like the shade TOP currently has, I've never had any experience with Manic Panic dyes but I've been told by friends who have that they're just as good as Directions.
Tutorial:
Now if you're wondering how you can achieve the look yourself it's really not that hard once you get the hang of it. Firstly if your hair isn't naturally a light blonde then you will have to bleach your hair, if you've never bleached your hair before then I have to warn you it can completely destroy your hair if you're not careful. If you're unsure about it go and see a professional stylist for a consultation to see if your hair can actually take being bleached. Always get the bleach that is directed towards your hair colour so if your hair is naturally black then buy bleach targeted towards dark brown to black, if your colour is a dark blonde/red then go for the bleach directed towards blonde to light brown though depending on the shade of your red hair you might have to go for the bleach targeted towards dark colours.
Once you have got your hair to a shade of blonde you will have to tone the colour down to white so that you have a plain base to put the vibrant colour on (if you're following this tutorial with intent to dye your hair a different colour such as bright red or a rich purple you don't need to apply silver toner as these colours usually go on, you only really need to tone it to a silver/white colour for light pastel colours or colours in the blue family) after getting it to a silver shade I would leave trying to dye it blue for a few days to let your natural oils build up and to give some time for your hair to recover.
So now you should be at the stage necessary to dye your hair blue. Please read above as to what ratios and what dyes to use for the blue you're after (you get 88ml of dye in Directions hair dye and 113ml in Manic Panic so if you decide to use Manic Panic's Atomic Blue with Directions silver toner use 1 and a quarter tubs of Directions to one tub of Manic Panic). Whatever shade you chose to go for, empty however much dye you're using into a resealable tub the reason why it's best to mix it in a resealable tub is because you don't have to use that much to get a strong colour and it lasts for quite a long time. Add 3 palm sized blobs of conditioner for every pot you use (so if you use one pot of turquoise and one pot of toner then add 6 palm sized blobs) because conditioner helps intensify the colour. I always apply it to dry hair but from what I've been told there's no difference either way. Leave the colour on for an hour, the pot's will tell you to leave it on for 15 minutes but that's not nearly enough time for the dye to grip to the hair, after an hour wash it out with water and you should have TOPs hair colour!
